MCC Board President Regine Mettelus welcomed Celebrating Mothers and more than 300 guests on March 6th at Flowers, Tea and MCC in the Philadelphia Marriott Downtown's Liberty Ballroom, which was filled with exotic flora. The event was hosted by Campaign Co-Chairs Diane Croce and Carolyn Smith, and Event Co-Chairs Victoria Zellers and Kirstin Engelman.
Ann Catania, owner of Ten Pennies Florist & Designers, entertained with a dazzling demonstration and recruited teams to make floral centerpieces. Michael Barkann, of Comcast SportsNet, offered color commentary as Team Croce faced off against Team Smith in a lively competition.
Clear Channel's Loraine Ballard Morrill promoted the cause while auctioning off the fabulous floral creations. Other items up for bid included a week's stay at a private villa in Jamaica, and a handcrafted necklace by jewelry designer Sara Lewis of adorn.
The day began with a family-friendly children's brunch - My Family, Me and MCC. Students from The Universidy of the Arts Alpha Psi Omega National Theater Honor Society entertained our young supporters in Lion King themed costumes created by designer Jaime Melfi. Two lucky guests won tickets to MCC Day at Disney's THE LION KING on Appril 22 at the Academy of Music.
